Festive Port & Tonic

 What inspires you?

What makes your heart jump, your soul fly and your stomach twist with butterflies?
That’s probably what you should be doing next year. Or tomorrow. Or now!

Focus your energies on what gives you energy. Direct your heart to what warms it. Project your soul to where you want to be. Manifest what you dream to be doing, vibrate to that same frequency and live as if you were doing it already.

Be realistic but dream high. Don’t build expectations but expect from yourself. Be gentle but rock it. ‘Cause you know you can do it. And if you doubt that you can… YOU CAN! Have you ever stopped to think how amazing you are? What you have accomplished over the years? How much you struggled to get here? Of course you can do it!

A few days ago I stumbled upon this New Year’s ritual that I just fell in love with and will do it myself. Had to share it with you:
Renee Byrd from Will Frolic for Food posted her Intention Setting & Dreamcasting practice on Instagram and it hit all the right spots for me. In her words:

“I gather a few giant sheets of drawing paper and a big box of colored pencils. Then I write out everything on my mind for the new year rapid-fire (goals, visions, wild dreams, plans). I pick out the strongest ideas (usually the ones that scare me the most). And I take a fresh sheet of paper and start to draw out my vision, including the words and any associated feelings (excitement, contentment, uneasiness…).
..
Usually a good deal of doubt and fear comes up about the biggest goals. I take that as a sign that I need to start doing them immediately, diving head-first into them come-what-may. They key I have learned is to resist the urge to question what’s possible. Just move forward with beginners mind, put your feet on the ground and do the damn thing.
..
I like to think of my intentions like mini-quests. In that way I’m opening myself up to embarking on a magical journey, a path that may be amazingly straightforward OR endlessly circuitous. Because of quest mindset I am allowing myself to be transformed by a journey that is so much bigger and better than my human-sized intentions.”

Today I am showing you this recipe for my favourite cocktail of all time, a Port & Tonic, jazzed up with fresh cranberries, grapefruit slices and rosemary. Why toasting with champagne only? Set your intentions, close your eyes and enjoy this cocktail to the last drop.

My Festive Port & Tonic
For each glass

Ingredients:
1 measure white Port wine
2 to 3 measures tonic water

2. Scrub the rosemary sprig in your hands and place it in the glass.
3. Add Port wine, grapefruit juice and tonic water in the end.
4. Place the rosemary on the rim of the glass for both beauty and practicality 🙂
